Synthesis of Fe3O4/Au/Eu(TTA)3-folate nanomaterial for applications in biomedical

The Fe3O4/Au/Eu(TTA)3 nanocomposite was functionalized with amino groups, which folic acid was attached to the amino groups to permit targeting of certain cancer cell lines that express high levels of folate receptor. In this paper, a Fe3O4/Au/Eu(TTA)3-folate nanocomplex was successfully synthesized. The as-synthesized material has small size from 75 to 100 nm in diameter and good dispersity in solution. In addition, this nanocomplex exhibits strong emission at λmax = 614 nm, superparamagnetic properties and high biocompatibility.
