As a substitute for synthetic organic-derived corrosion inhibitors, henna leaf powder from henna plants was investigated for their ability to inhibit corrosion on steel substrates in an acidic environment. The research results were assessed by weight loss measurements and electrochemical method. The results showed that, with a concentration of 1 g/L, henna leaf powder reduced the corrosion rate on the steel surface in 1 M HCl to 0,0025 mm/year. The corrosion inhibition efficiency measured by the polarization curve and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were 88,35% and 87,78%, respectively. With the ability to inhibit the corrosion of steel surfaces in acidic environments, henna leaf powder is considered a green natural extract, environmentally friendly, capable of replacing organic synthetic transmission inhibitors.
