Heterogeneous Fenton-like LFO catalyst for the degradation of organic pollutant in wastewater
Abstract
LaFeO3 (LFO) nanoparticles were successfully prepared by hydrothermal method at different calcination temperatures. The LFO samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), N2 adsorption-desorption analysis and UV-Vis absorption spectra. The best sample was calcined at 800 oC having particles size in the range of 50-60 nm. Under visible light irradiation and in the presence of H2O2, LFO exhibited the strongly photocatalytic activity with almost 100% of Rhodamine B (RhB) degraded after 90 min. LFO is a promising catalyst for the degradation of organic pollutants.
