In this study, anisotrpic silver nanoparticles (ASNPs) were fabricated by photochemical method under green LED irradiation. The formation of ASNPs at various trisodium citrate (TSC) amounts was investigated by employing different characterization methods such as ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV–Vis), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). It was found that ASNPs could not form without TSC. However, TSC served capping of (111) faces of nanoparticles and also reduced the Ag+ ions to Ag0 under LED irradiation, thus promoting shape transformation of ASNPs.
